Superswell® VR is a virtual reality production company specializing in immersive storytelling and experiences for the travel and outdoor industries. Superswell® VR was founded by Wasim Muklashy and Skye Mayring.
Wasim Muklashy
Co-Founder · Director & Cinematographer
Wasim is a seasoned multimedia veteran. He began his career writing for various Primedia and Condé Nast publications before founding a national newsstand print magazine. He then spent the better part of a decade producing and editing marketing and commercial videos and corporate media packages for Fortune 500 companies including Gap, Mattel, and Warner Brothers. Most recently, Wasim has been a Samsung-sponsored professional photographer with work for clients such as Airbnb, The World Forestry Center, Subaru, and The National Park Service.
Skye Mayring
Co-Founder · Producer & Travel Journalist
Skye Mayring, known in the blogosphere as Joan Jetsetter, is an award-winning travel journalist and producer. She got her start in travel as an editor for TravelAge West and a contributor to Robb Report, Travel Weekly, and tnooz. As a producer and digital influencer, she has created online videos and social media campaigns for Google, BuzzFeed, GoPro, Verizon, TripIt, Tastemade, Culture Trip, and Samsung. Over the years, Skye has won numerous awards — including the Silver Lowell Thomas Award for Travel Journalist of the Year — for her coverage of millennial culture, travel tech, festival travel, and adventure.
Our Process
Superswell® VR uses the latest in virtual reality technology to produce the highest-quality VR content available today. We utilize a combination of technologies to capture our unique virtual reality experiences — each project and client calls for a different approach, and our teams have the solution for every situation.
For higher-end projects, such as our #TahitiVR project for Tahiti Tourisme, we use systems like Samsung’s Project Beyond camera and Insta360’s Pro and Titan series 360° cameras. For our influencer series and prosumer-level projects, we combine those higher-end solutions with more mobile options such as the Samsung Gear 360, GoPro Fusion, and Rylo 360 action cameras.
